The Redneck Minnow is a top water pattern designed to land soft and push water. This is a great summer pattern to fish early in the morning at creek mouths or outside points. Also works great for reds over the oyster bars on low water when you want a fly that won't hang up. Start the retrieive when it hits the water or If you let it sit it will slowly sink and you can fish it just below the surface.
I start with a Gamakatsu SC15 in 2/0 and add SF Flash Blend for the wing in olive over white. The red collar is a couple wraps sparkle chenille. The head is reverse tied pearl Flexi-cord with the shape set with Clear Cure Goo, UV Flex, Tack Free.
Add a set of mirage Pelagic eyes with Zap-a-Gap to finish. Easy to tie and fishes great.
