The 10k Greenback is a great all-round pattern for tarpon, snook and reds. Tied in the same manner of our 10k Baitfish Series this fly is larger and designed to push water. It is one of our favorite patterns as it represents one of the key baitfish found here in the Everglades. Everything eats this.
It uses SF Flash Blend for the wing and the head is set with Clear Cure UV Glue, Flex/Tack Free.
Start with a Gamakatsu SC17 3/0  and attach a small bunch of glow-in-the-dark Pink Flashabou for the throat/gills.  Turn the fly over and add a medium sized buch of white SF Flash Blend reverse style. Turn the fly over and prepare the top wing.
I comb equal parts of SF Flash Blend Olive and Mullet Brown together for the wing.
Tie in the top wing reverse style and bring back both wings together. Brush the head with Clear Cure Goo and set with your UV light to hold the shape.
Add a pair of  Mirage Pelagic Eyes with some Zap-a-Gap. Trim the wing with a taper to the rear.
